The latest release of the iPhone SDK from Apple comes with an array of new Mac utilities for developing iPhone specific software. One of the new tools included with the iPhone SDK beta is the Aspen Simulator. Aspen is an iPhone simulator that developers can test their apps on which emulates all of the the features and functionality of the iPhone. miniMIZE – miniMIZE catches windows that you minimize and puts a thumbnail of the main application window on your desktop. This is great for getting a visual representation of your taskbar and makes more sense to me. It also creates an uncluttered taskbar.

Using Gtalk with Miranda IM

If you use Miranda IM as your instant messaging app in Windows and you want to use Google Talk which uses the Jabber protocol, you can use these steps to setup an additional Jabber plugin for Miranda and configure it to use the Google servers.

This will allow you to use both a regular Jabber account and GTalk simultaneously withing Miranda.

From time to time you need to capture a web site in the form of an image. Joost plans to do to TV, what MP3 did to CDs

Joost, which is pronounced “Juiced” from the makers of Skype is planning to do to Television what Napster did to the music industry. The business plan is to make money from commercials and share that revenue with content partners. While it runs on any PC today, Joost will eventually start selling TiVo / Xbox like hardware due to its graphic intensive nature. With time most TV watchers will switch from cable or sattelite to super highspeed internet connections that feeds into their flatscreen TVs. So, what does this mean for the future? What can it do for you today? I took the Joost beta for a test spin to find out.
