it's worth noting that for the graphics upload to work properly, the UPLOAD URL setting should be set to the path which the specified FTP user "sees".

On Godaddy accounts, for example, it's easy to setup an FTP user which would see /full/path/to/wp-content/uploads as its "root" and so you would only specify ftp://user:pass@domain.com and no further path.

This tripped me up for quite a few minutes since the only error is, "Word cannot publish because folder is read only".

I tried to set up an account in Microsoft Word 2007 and publish my blogs to Wordpress, everything's fine untill yesterday I tried to pulish a long post after I typed it in Word 2007. Word 2007 told me the post was published successfully. But When I opened my blog I found that there's only the title left, the content was all empty. I check that post in Post Manage of the Admin, there's only the title left too, the content was all empty both in Visual and HTML writers.

I tried to publish several short posts from Word 2007. This time the contents were not empty, but at the begining of the post there was a "p", and at the end of the post there was a "/p". I found something wrong with the HTML tags, those "" were lost in the contents during the publishment.

I reuploaded the xmlrpc.php and cleaned the blog.dotx file, but it didn't work...

Please, help me!

I found your tutorial in google and hoped it would help me solve the problems with blogging from Word 2007 to my self-hosted wordpress blog, but alas no such luck, this is really starting to make my teeth grind.

This feature would have been dead handy for doing sneaky blog posts from work (if I could get it working), but everytime i post it informs me "Word cannot Publish your post" and then gives you the oppurtunity to click on a more information box which takes you straight to the Office online page about Word 2007 blogging, but gives no reason as to why its not working.

Wondered if anyone else here is having the same problem ?

Nope, I was wrong, this did not work, I can post, but for some reason, Word keeps gagging on the pictures. All my ftp settings are right, what gives?
